What you’ll be doing:

Research, analyze, and develop information and Business Intelligence solutions to support the data and reporting needs across the underwriting departments. Research and document the metrics and processes developed and used within the Underwriting Data environment. Establish process/efficiency improvements and reporting best practices. Evaluate, write, and test requirements for Underwriting Data applications. Identify and resolve complex data and application problems. Lead and assist other team members with upgrades and rollouts of business intelligence applications.

 

**This is a HYBRID position that requires 2 days per week IN the office and can be based in one of the below locations:

  • Milwaukee, WI
  • Madison, WI
  • Merrill, WI (preferred)
  • Mechanicsburg, PA

On any given day, you’ll:

•Research and document the metrics and processes used and reported within Underwriting.
• Develop advanced data and reporting solutions utilizing intelligence applications to provide dashboards, data marts, query tools, and ad hoc reporting.
• Develop and lead business testing strategies. Review and approve new business applications to ensure alignment with business data objectives.
• Retrieve and manipulate data from multiple data sources using current tools and software, such as SAS EG, SAS VA, Excel, and Tableau.
• Work with IT and Business Intelligence to identify and resolve complex data and application problems.
• Document corporate data definitions and metadata elements.
• Monitor data quality and identify areas of needed improvement.
• Lead upgrades and rollouts of business intelligence applications, including monitoring performance.
• Prepare user documentation and training materials. Provide technical training and user support to business groups.
• Perform special projects as requested.

• Bachelor's degree in a technical or business related field preferred. May consider equivalent experience in lieu of a degree.
• Typically, two or more years of experience are required, preferably an analytical role in a property and casualty insurance setting.
• In depth knowledge of insurance business functions, operations, objectives, and information flow.
• Prior work with application software, data, and advanced analytical concepts is required.
• Ability to learn existing work tools, data sources, and more advanced insurance processes.
• Demonstrated ability to communicate complex data and technical concepts in an understandable manner.
• Advanced computer skills, specifically with databases and spreadsheets.
• Familiar with database concepts, strategies, and methodologies.
• Work experience with advanced business intelligence tools and concepts.
• Ability to develop relationships and work effectively in a collaborative team environment.
• Ability to assist others in acquiring knowledge.

Exact compensation will vary based on consideration of a variety of factors including education, skills, experience, and location.

USD $69,000.00/Yr.

Maximum Compensation

USD $103,500.00/Yr.
